Sony Entertainment Television Asia has announced a new twist to their hit reality show, ‘Indian Idol’ which is due to premiere its third season in April.
Budding singers in the UK will now have the opportunity to have a chance to join the ‘Indian Idol’ final stages in Mumbai and follow their dreams of becoming a singing sensation.
Rajan Singh, Executive Vice President for International Business commented, “This is the first time we�۪ve held open auditions for Indian Idol outside of India. We had an ‘Indian Idol’ booth at the Asian Lifestyle Show for two years running and the talent that we saw deserved recognition, which is why we�۪ve decided to take it to the next level.”
The auditions will be held at the Asian Lifestyle Show in Birmingham on the 30th, 31st March and 1st April. All auditions will be judged by a well accomplished panel. They will then be whittled down to 25 promising singers and the final two will then go on to join the competition in India where they will compete to win the title of the new Indian Idol and a contract with SonyBMG (India).
Indian Idol is a format based show based on the ��Idol�۪ concept which has enjoyed success across the world, including America, the United Kingdom, Australia, France and Germany.
Previous winners of Indian Idol are Abhijeet Sawant and Sandeep Acharya who have both gone on to become an International phenomenon. Previous finalists have also been very successful and have gone on to star in dramas, movies and become playback singers for some of Bollywood�۪s biggest blockbusters.
