Sony Pictures Networks India has announced the launch of its Marathi entertainment channel, Sony Marathi.

The channel will be going live on Sunday 19th August under the strapline ‘‘Vinuya Atut Nati’ – meaning a strong bond. It has also unveiled three shows including ‘Saare Tuzhyach Sathi’, ‘Julta Julta Jultay Ki’ and ‘Hum Bane Tum Bane’.

This will be Sony India’s second regional language channel after Bengali channel Sony Aath. The Marathi television market is dominated by ZEE Marathi, followed by Colors Marathi and Star Pravah.

Sony Pictures Networks India MD and CEO NP Singh said, “By catering to this audience, SPN will expand its regional footprint. Ajay will play a vital role in delivering a channel experience that is relatable yet compelling. With extensive experience and in-depth understanding of the industry, I am confident that under Ajay’s leadership, SPN will make an impressive debut in the Marathi entertainment space.”
