Sony Entertainment Network hires Rajesh Rupani

Rajesh Rupani has been named Vice-President of International Finance at Sony Entertainment Network, BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

The announcement was made today by Rajan Singh, Executive Vice-President of International Business.

Singh commented, “Rajesh is a highly skilled financial controller who truly understands the nature of the international South Asian pay-TV sector. He has extensive experience which spans several sectors including automotive, financial and of course television. He will help us take our business to the next level by dealing with the demands of a very competitive environment and improving profitability”.

With his new appointment, Rupani will be responsible for Sony Entertainment Network’s finances outside of the Indian sub-continent and will report directly to Neeraj Arora, Senior Vice-President of International Business. Based in London, he will oversee strategic financial control within sales, marketing and distribution of the network of channels in over one hundred countries around the world including the UK and Europe, Africa, North America, the Middle East and Australasia.

Arora commented, “Rajesh has proved time and time again that he has the experience to add immense value to whichever organisation is lucky enough to have him as a resource and with his addition to a team which includes myself and Rajan; I envisage a great future for our business”.

Prior to his appointment, Rupani was Vice President, Group Finance at the B4U Network and was primarily responsible for the finance function of all of the channel’s international operations and group reporting. Before this, he has worked at ZEE Network, TFL Motor Group and PWC within a financial and auditing role.

A native of Kenya, Rupani now lives in Middlesex with his wife and two children. He holds a Chartered Accountants qualification from London.
