Sony confirms launch of Indian Idol 2

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has finally spoken out about the launch of its much awaited Indian Idol 2 series.

When ?Idols?, the hugely popular worldwide phenomenon, was brought to India last year as Indian Idol, Sony Entertainment Television promised the nation that it would forget everything else and it surely did.

In a span of merely eight months, Indian Idol took millions of Indians to towering heights of sheer frenzy, propelling them to live their dreams and becoming ?water cooler conversation? across the nation. Indian Idol experienced viewer engagement as never before, truly cutting across all boundaries of caste, creed, social status and geographies to witness people from every walk of life turn up in full strength, not only to participate and make their dreams come true but also religiously vote to choose their Indian Idol.

Indian Idol gave the country it?s very first ?Idol?? Abhijeet Sawant. Hailing from a modest, middle class background, Indian Idol catapulted this Mumbai boy to unprecedented heights of fame, fortune, stardom and adulation. The new series will be presented by actor Aman Yatan Verma and viviacious Mini Mathur and the judges will remain as the old series. They consisted of Farah Khan, Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik.

Indian Idol 2 will begin in the UK same day as India – on Monday 21st November at 20:30.
