Sony channels & B4U Movies sign up to BARB

Just days after the ZEE Network UK channels signed up to BARB for official viewing data, Sony Pictures Networks channels and B4U Movies have also now become BARB rated.

As of Tuesday 1st August, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony MAX, Sony Mix and B4U Movies will report official audience data. Incidentally, today is the Asian TV market in the UK has changed with all the major players fighting in the same pack for the first time. These include ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema, ZEE Punjabi, Zing and &TV going head to head with Sony TV, Sony MAX, Sony Mix, Sony SAB TV and B4U Movies. They will all compete with current market leader, Star Plus, Star Gold, Life OK and Star Utsav.

It will be interesting to see how old players like ZEE TV and Sony TV, will compete with the current dominant player, Star Plus in UK ratings. Star Plus has remained the UK’s top rated Asian TV channel for several years but audience figures of the channel have somewhat dwindled recently.
