Sony Entertainment Television Asia is venturing out into UK based shows for its international audiences. To begin with, its hugely popular foot tapping dance show Boogie Woogie will be holding UK auditions in which finalists will compete with other contestants from
around the world.

A series of auditions are planned to take place across the country as the suspense builds towards the UK finals. The contest features a junior category for 6 – 15 year olds, and a senior category for 16 – 22 year olds.

Britain is already a home from home for many artists and performers from the South Asian continent, but there is a wealth of talent that already exists within our communities here in the UK. Bollywood may not be as far from reach as you think, as Britain rapidly establishes itself as the European capital for creative Bollywood talent.

In a press statement sent to Biz Asia, the channel invited participants to take part in the hit show: “So you’ve got friends and relatives who say that you’re a really good dancer. Well now is your chance to prove it! Please ring the Mela Organisers to find out where your nearest audition is being held as demand is expected to be high. There is a possibility that you could register on the day subject to
availability.”

23rd October 04 – London
30th October 04 – Bradford
6th November 04 – Birmingham
