Sony axes ‘Jeete Hain Jis Ke Liye’

Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s much publicised drama ‘Jeete Hain Jis Ke Liye’, which launched barely four months ago, is being axed.

‘Jeete Hain Jis Ke Liye’ compromises of popular TV faces Renuka Shahane and Ayub Khan but both failed to compete with soaps on rival channels.

Confirming the developments protagonist Renuka Shahane told TellyChakkar, “I feel terrible about it. The potential of the show was not fully exploited. The tag line gave a different impression while the story digressed completely from the main plot. It’s the channel’s and production house’s decision, I guess.”

Some say the 20-year leap after just a few episodes was the cause in the falling off viewership.

The new entrant Sounia Kapur, who plays Maneka, the love angle of Aman after the 20-year leap opines, “From no angle should it be taken off air. I am sure the production house must be having its own reasons, otherwise who will wish to wind up after just 4 months.”

As for a logical ending, Renuka aka Anjali reveals, “I am not told much about the ending except that I get my kids back. So, I guess it’s a happy ending.”

The final episode of ‘Jeete Hain Jis Ke Liye’ will be shown on Thursday 17th May at 22:30. A replacement has not yet been announced.

Its not the first time Sony TV has decided to pull off a show so soon after its launch. Recently its other primetime property ‘Kulvuddhu’ was axed due to low ratings.
