Sonu Nigam to be honoured with Padma Shri

Singer Sonu Nigam will be awarded a Padma Shri for his contribution to the arts sector.

Nigam joins other recipients that include actor Victor Banerjee, filmmaker Chandrprakash Dwivedi and actress Sowcar Janaki.

The Padma Honours are announced to coincide with India Republic Day. The awards will be presented by President Ramnath Kovind later in the year.
