Sonu Nigam & Mika Singh clash over azaan controversy

Looks like the azaan controversy surrounding Sonu Nigam is not dying down.  This time Nigam has reportedly clashed with fellow singer Mika Singh.

Following the furore surrounding the debate around the use of loudspeakers at religious places of worship, Singh had tweeted “Big bro, I respect u as a singer. I think you should change your house and stay somewhere else instead of changing loudspeakers”.  He had subsequently deleted the tweet but it didn’t stop a news channel asking for Nigam’s reaction on it.

According to Mid-day, the Kal Ho Na Ho singer replied “Kaun Mika?” thereby apparently belittling the popular Punjabi singer by questioning who he even was.  However Singh went on to react by posting on social media again stating his name is enough to get high ratings for the news channel.

Whether this controversy will die down remains to be seen.
