Since the recent tensions between India and Pakistan over the Pulwama attack, many filmmakers and actors from the Hindi film industry have decided to not showcase their films in Pakistan.

Some are also avoiding featuring any song sung by Pakistani artists in their films. Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar had a song in their upcoming movie ‘Kesari’ sung by a Pakistani artist which has reportedly been removed.

Deccan Chronicle reveals a confirmed source saying, “Everyone seems to remain tight-lipped about this song which is said to have been sung by a Pakistani singer. Nor are they ready to name the singer to avoid any further complications.” The song was written by Kumar, who has also written another popular song ‘Sanu Kehndi’ for the film.

Starring Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, ‘Kesari’ is centred around the Battle of Saragarhi fought in 1897 between the British Indian Army Sikh Regiment and Afghani-Pashto military.

The film is due to release on the 21stof March 2019.
