Sonam, Priyanka & Twinkle come in support of Tanushree Dutta

Just days after Tanushree Dutta made serious sexual allegations against Nana Patekar, a number of other leading stars have come in support of the actress.

It was back in 2008 that Dutta claims Patekar had allegedly sexually harassed her during the shoot of their film ‘Horn Ok Please’. Ten years later, Dutta has spoken about the alleged incident and how uncomfortable she felt at the time of filming.

Supporting the actress, Farhan Akhtar was first to take to social media with a heartfelt post. He said, “This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned.”

This was followed up by an RT by Priyanka Chopra, with the message, “Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors.”

Then, Twinkle Khan, whose husband Akshay Kumar was criticised by Dutta for making films with Patekar who apparently knew about the allegations. Khanna said, “A working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us.”

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, whose father Anil Kapoor worked with Patekar in films like ‘Welcome’ and ‘Welcome Back’ said, “I believe #TanushreeDatta… It’s upto us to stand together.”

Yesterday, Patekar denied the allegations and said was seeking legal advice.
