Sonam Kapoor on allegations against Rajkumar Hirani

After filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexually harassing a woman when making ‘Sanju’ (2018), many have reacted to the news. The latest is Sonam Kapoor, who starred in the film.

“In the Me Too movement, I always believe a woman. But in this case, we need to reserve our judgment. Two things here – one the film is as important as the movement and second, I have known Hirani for many years and I respect him as a filmmaker and a man,” said Kapoor, as quoted by E Times.

She added, “I will talk about it at length when the movie is released. But what if it’s (allegations) not true, the movement will get derailed.”

Hirani’s name was removed from Kapoor’s film ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ which is slated for release on Friday. It hasn’t been said that the reasoning behind the removal of his name was the Me Too allegations but the accusations came to light a day or two later.
