Sonam Kapoor bags female lead in ‘Munnabhai 3’?

The third instalment of the ‘Munnabhai’ franchise is expected soon, if recent rumours are anything to go by. The recent Me Too allegations against director Rajkumar Hirani are still being investigated but the latest buzz suggests that Sonam Kapoor may land the female led role in the forthcoming part.

“Sonam in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga reminds Vinod Chopra of Manisha Koirala in 1942: A Love Story (the 1994 film produced by Vinod Chopra starring Sonam’s father Anil Kapoor). He is completely in favour of casting Sonam in the next Munnabhai film,” said a source, according to Deccan Chronicle.

Kapoor had a small role in Hirani directorial ‘Sanju’ which released in 2018, “It was a brief role and Vinod had promised her a more substantial part in his next. He kept his word by giving Sonam the protagonist’s part in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Now he wants to work again with her”.

‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ is set for release on 1st February, also starring Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla.
