Sonam Kapoor as Akshay Kumar’s mistress in ‘Padman’

R Balki’s next movie, ‘Padman’, will see Sonam Kapoor play Akshay Kumar’s extra-marital affair, BizAsiaLive.com has learnt.

“Akshay’s is the main part, but I play his wife and that’s a crucial role. In certain films it’s not about the length of the role but what your part adds to it.There’s a lot of meat in this character and I’m excited,” revealed Kapoor, according to Spotboye.

It was earlier being said that Kapoor would be seen as a journalist in the film which was flatly denied by Balki. Radhika Apte is said to be playing Kumar’s wife.

The film is based on the story of Padma Shri Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented the machine which manufactures sanitary towels.
