Sonam Kapoor Ahuja appears on stage at King Charles III’s Coronation

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has been on stage this evening in London at King Charles III’s Coronation.

The concert is taking place at Windsor Castle to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Kapoor dazzled in a custom made Anamika Khanna, Emilia Wickstead gown as she appeared on stage to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir. The bespoke floor-length gown featuring a sweeping band detail around the shoulders framing a corseted bodice, and a full-skirt lined with architectural godet pleats was designed by New Zealand-born, UK-based fashion designer Emilia Wickstead.

Kapoor appeared on stage and made the following speech to introduce the choir:

“Namaste, our Commonwealth is a union. Together we are one third of the world’s people. One third of the world’s ocean. One quarter of the world’s land. Each of our countries is unique, each of our peoples special, but we choose to stand as one, learning from our history. Blessed by our diversity, driven by our values, and determined to build a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous future for everyone, where every voice is heard.

Sonam then introduced on stage the Abisa High School from Lesotho, the Bahamas National Youth Choir, the Yippy Tuns Choir from Brunei performing alongside the legendary Steve Winwood.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned a service held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. To mark the occasion the country is enjoying a long weekend – with Monday declared as a public holiday across the UK.
