Sonakshi Sinha has spent the majority of her career thus far playing the conventional heroine in masaala films. However, the actress is now all set for a new chapter in her acting career, in which she will also be seen in the lead role in a film based on Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena.
Speaking to DNA India, Sinha said, “It۪s a powerful role, a great script and a story which will translate very well on screen. I am looking forward to getting into character for this one.”
The actress did, however, admit to have been skeptical about signing this project. She added, “Initially, because of the sensitive subject. That۪s when I went to my dad for advice and he said as an actor, this kind of a role is a rarity. He was the one who encouraged me to do it.”
Apparently titled ‘Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai’, the film is slated to go on floors in the early months of 2016 and will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
Sinha will also next be seen in AR Murugadoss’ ‘Akira’ and Abhinay Deo’s ‘Force 2’.
