Sonakshi Sinha loses out on Farah Khan’s next

Sinha no longer potential for 'Happy New Year'?
Sinha no longer potential for 'Happy New Year'?

Many names have been associated as potentials to play female lead in Farah Khan’s star-studded forthcoming film, ‘Happy New Year’. It had been almost finalised that Khan’s choice was to be Sonakshi Sinha but it seems this was not to be. Apparently, Khan was a little uneasy in casting Sinha after she didn’t show much enthusiasm in promoting her husband’s film ‘Joker’ (2012) which she starred in.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, a source confirmed, “Farah was always fond of her. But she is miffed with the fact that Sonakshi didn۪t promote Joker the way she should have. As things stand now, she is no longer in the consideration list for HNY”.

Reports of late have suggested that Shah Rukh Khan, who reunited with Farah with this project, was keen on casting Parineeti Chopra opposite himself. Thesource further commented,”Nothing is final right now. Since Shah Rukh has been busy with Jab Tak Hai Jaan, he hasn۪t had the time to sit and discuss things with Farah. Once he gets some time off, everything, including the female lead, will be decided”.

It seems that now the actresses in the running along with Chopra are Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. It will be interesting to see who ends up with the role.
