Sohail Warraich defects to Dunya News from Geo TV

Dunya Media Group has confirmed the appointment of Sohail Warraich as its Executive Director.

Senior journalist and analyst Warraich best known for his programme ‘Ek Din Geo K Sath’ on Geo TV among a variety of notable contributions to the field of journalism, has joined Dunya News in capacity of Executive Director.

The celebrated analyst will assume responsibility of Executive Director of Dunya News while performing duties as Group Editor in Roznama Dunya. This addition to the Dunya family will not only bring in fresh analytical approach to the current quality content of Dunya News but boost their current ratings and their standing as a reputable and rapidly excelling news channel.

Warraich has a long list of strong credentials; having earned a master s degree in political sciences. Warraich was affiliated with Geo Television ever since its birth. During his tenure in Geo TV he played a major part in redefining the news programming as well as culture of Pakistan with some of his catch phrases becoming well known jargons of Urdu language.

He began his journalism career in 1990 and hosted a political talk show called ‘Left Right’, putting forth viewpoints of the Left-wing and the Right-wing. He also appeared on a programme known as ‘Meray Mutabiq’ along with journalists Iftikhar Ahmad and Hassan Nisar. Furthermore, he authored two books, ‘Qatil Kaun’ and ‘Ghaddar Koun’. In the former compilation, Warraich famously explored the factors that led Pakistan to 1999 coup and the events that unfolded after 12th October 1999.
