With biopics of sports persons becoming somewhat of a trend in Indian cinema, actor-producer Sohail Khan is all set in preparing for his role as Indian wrestler Gama Pehlwan, which it was previously reported would be essayed by John Abraham.
According to India Today, Khan is to be trained by current Indian wrestling champion Sushil Kumar. Pehlwan, also known as ‘The Great Gama’, was India’s world champion wrestler of the 1900s, who inevitably had never been beaten. Weighing up to 99 kilos the wrestler fought for more than 50 years.
Khan has a month to match the build of Pehlwan before the film’s shooting gets underway. It will be directed by Punit Isssar, with Salman Khan as producer.
