IMG_2830

With the much awaited Shamitabh۪ set to hit the big screens on 6th February, London was graced with the presence of the cast, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshara Haasan and Dhanush for the films promotions. BizAsia had the opportunity to attend the press conference, hosted by popular British star Ameet Chana, and hear what they had to say about the upcoming film.

When talking to the media, the trio seemed very excited to be there and all expressed their gratitude to be part of such an intriguing film. When speaking about R Balki as a director, Dhanush explained how brilliant he is in his craft, Working with Balki, he۪s a task master he۪s and he knows what he wants his mastered his art very well in film, he knows exactly what he wasn۪t and he takes the best out of his actors and I۪m very thankful to him for giving me this kind of character for giving me this script with Akshara and Amitabh.”

Not much of the plot has been revealed even through the trailers, and the actors all remain quite tight lipped about the plot. What makes this film seem extremely different is that Dhanush۪s character has the same voice as Bachchan. There was a lot of interest in how the young actor managed to portray a character with such a prestigious voice. Talking of how well he feels Dhanush has managed to portray his character, Bachchan explained, What he (Dhanush) has done is he has remained himself as an actor and as a character in the film and performed to the voice of someone else, and that۪s really hard.۝

Being her first film, Haasan seemed calm and composed, however she did express how she felt when she first starting shooting for the film. Firstly I was actually really nervous. I was prepared first and I۪ve been really honoured to have worked with Amtiabh and Dhanush. I have a lot to learn.۝

Stay with BizAsia to catch more of what the Shamitabh۪ trio had to say about the film and each other.
