Smriti Irani enters ZEE TV ‘Bahuraaniyan’ soap

Smriti Irani, a name synonymous with STAR Plus’ ‘Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ will now enter ZEE TV’s popular show ‘Teen Bahuraaniyan’ as a massi.

Her character name Vrinda Mausi will save the main lead Janki’s life from her in-laws.

This the first show she will acting in outside her own production house after she quit Balaji Telefilms and got into production.

Currently she is working on ‘Virrudh’ on Sony Entertainment Television Asia and ‘Mere Apne’ on 9X.

Smriti confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, I am doing Teen Bahuraaniyan and am playing a positive character in the show.

People thought I would not be doing any show outside my production house. I have worked with the writer of the show besides Hemalji (Hemal Thakkar, producer) and when the channel told me about the role I was impressed.”

What made her do a show outside her own production house? She says, “Even as offers were coming my way, I was exploring the possibility of acting in a serial outside my own production house. Together with the channel I’m working on various projects.”

As Smriti enters a new show there are bound to be expectations. How is going to deal with that? “This is a new adventure I am embarking on and I know there will be huge expectations from the viewers.

Smriti started shooting for ‘Teen Bahuraaniyan’ yesterday and she will be on air in India episodes from Monday 10th December (UK viewers will have to wait towards the end of this month).
