Sky Sports snaps up rights for Tennis League 2015

Sky Sports will once again broadcast the forthcoming edition of the International Premier Tennis League, which starts in December.

The IPTL is the brainchild of Mahesh Bhupathi and the former doubles specialist is believed to have already signed up a number of the world’s top players. This year’s tournament takes place between 2nd and 20th December 2015.

Bhupathi said, ���We are proud to strengthen our reach, taking it to global audiences through many of the world�۪s leading broadcasters. The success of Season 1 is a result of the format being accepted by the players translating into high-intensity competition. We will continue to offer an unmatched viewing experience to our global audiences who are now beginning to enjoy tennis in a manner never seen before.”

This year�۪s edition will see five franchises ���The Micromax Indian Aces, OUE Singapore Slammers, UAE Royals, Philippine Mavericks and Japan Warriors battle it out for the coveted IPTL trophy.

Sky Sports will broadcast the series in the UK, while 150 others territories will also telecast league. Star Sports, ESPN, Fox Asia and Eurosport are the other telecast partners for this year’s International Premier Tennis League.
