Sky Sports airs its first Hindi advert to promote India cricket

Sky Sports has televised its first Hindi advert to promote the ongoing India tour of England cricket series.

The advert created by Sky Media has been voiced by the Head of Multicultural Business at Sky Media, Debarshi Pandit.

Speaking about the new advert, Pandit said, “Off the back of the success of the Indian Premier League on Sky Sports Cricket (where we aired adverts in Hindi for the first time), we at Sky Media thought it would be great for us to continue the momentum and make potential advertisers aware that we at Sky walk-the-talk too! We created history with Sky Sports by conceiving this unique Hindi promo.”

He added, “All the teams came together and showcased some in-house talent – the promo was directed by Simon Cole from Sky Creative, voiced by myself and scheduling done by Jennifer Self from Promotional Strategy.”

The promotion will be served in the form of a 30-second TV ad spot showing flashbacks of successful Indian cricket matches against England since 1932.

Sky Media’s focus on multicultural audiences was recently highlighted at Cannes Lions where Sky agreed to match fund media spend through Sky’s AdSmart for any mainstream advertiser who is looking to create a culturally relevant contextual advertising campaign to reach multicultural audiences.

Sky Media currently has the largest portfolio of multicultural channels in the UK, with more than 25 channels consumed by 4 million people.
