Sky locks free-to-air deal with Channel 4 to air ICC Cricket World Cup final

Sky has confirmed its exclusive partnership with Channel 4 to broadcast the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup final between England and New Zealand for free on UK television.

The match, which will be played on Sunday, takes place at Lord’s. The rights of the match belong to Sky Sports, however it will share the coverage with Channel 4 as it has holds huge national interest. This is the first time since 1992 that England has reached the World Cup final.

Sky Sports’ coverage begins at 09:00 on Sunday. Channel 4 will simultaneously carry Sky’s coverage but the game will move to More 4 at 13:15 as Channel 4 shows the Formula One British Grand Prix before returning to Lord’s after the race.
