The WarnerMedia owned digital platform, HBO Max has been postponed for launch across parts of Europe due to its current deal with Sky.
HBO Max is expected to launch in 60 countries outside of the US in 2021, However, UK, Germany and Italy will need to wait due to contractual reasons.
Sky and WarnerMedia signed a content back in 2010 when Sky became the official broadcaster of HBO content in Europe. This was extended in 2019 which now includes output from Warner Bros, Turner, Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands, according to FT.
HBO Max launches in 39 territories across Latin America and the Caribbean this June.
