The recently launched Asian TV bundle, Sky Asia Pack has had its price slashed, BizAsia can reveal.

The Sky Asia Pack, which consists of Sony Entertainment Television Asia, Sony MAX, B4U Movies, ARY Digital, ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema and ZEE Punjabi, has been retailing at 15.00 per month since its launch in April 2014. However, Sky has confirmed to BizAsia that the price has been cut to just 5.00 per month for existing Sky subscribers, who wish to upgrade their subscription to get access to the seven Asian channels. Sky said, “We run offers from time to time on our TV packs.” The offer only applies to existing Sky customers.
The offer ends on 25th June.

New customers wishing to join Sky and subscribe to the Sky Asia Pack can do so by signing up to any Sky TV pack and bundling on the Sky Asia Pack (for 15 per month).

The industry is hoping this initiative will ramp up subscriber numbers for Sky Asia Pack, which thus far has rumoured to be on the lower side. The next marketing burst by Sky is also expected in the coming weeks.

The Sky Asia Pack faces tough competition from free-to-air channels like Colors, Rishtey, Hum TV, Geo TV, SAB TV, PTC Punjabi and many others. Furthermore, it is competing with the Star TV Network, which is available as part of the Sky base pack.
