Sky announce plans to charge £5 to skip adverts

Broadcasting giant, Sky has announced plans to charge viewers £5 to skip adverts on its Sky Glass and Sky Stream services.

The charge will be applied to consumers monthly package, which will enable viewers to skip through adverts when using Live Pause (up to the live broadcast only), Restart (‘Watch from start’), Playlist, Sky On Demand. The package will also allow viewers to fast forward adverts in the ITVX, STV Player and All4 TV apps.

The Ad Skipping pack doesn’t mean that viewers won’t see any adverts. It just lets viewers to fast forward through the ads using the relevant remote control buttons and on screen menu for what they are watching.

Ad Skipping has a 31-day rolling contract.
