Singer Shaan quits ‘STAR Voice Of India’

Singer and TV host Shaan has quit STAR Plus’ reality TV show ‘STAR Voice Of India’, barely a year into the job.

Shaan who was previously associated with ZEE TV’s show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ left when the then producer Gajendra Singh was lured away to rival broadcaster STAR TV.

Shaan secretly threw a farewell party after the final episode of ‘STAR Voice Of India’ last weekend at his residence.

‘STAR Voice Of India’, which launched in September, will be replaced with the upcoming children’s series ‘STAR Voice Of India – Chhotey Ustad’.

STAR Plus bosses and Gajendra Singh are keeping their lips sealed about who will take Shaan’s place. An insider reveals, “Gajendra is juggling with the idea of asking one of the contestants from the recently concluded series to act as the host.

He is thinking of signing on either Aabhas Joshi or Priyani Vani. Else, he might opt for a TV actress.”

Speculations are rife as to why Shaan left the show all of a sudden. Our source says, “Shaan told Gajendra that he needs a break. He has been associated with Gajendra from the days of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on ZEE.”

When contacted, Gajendra confirmed that Shaan will not be a part of the Chottey Ustad series. He says, “Shaan had informed me of his decision a long time back. He wants to focus on films.”

“Shaan will return for the next series of Star Voice Of India. However, it is not easy to find a replacement for Shaan. I feel that I have lost my right arm,” says Gajendra.

The first series of ‘STAR Voice Of India’ starts on STAR Plus UK in January.
