Sidharth Malhotra turns rapper for ‘A Gentleman’

Sidharth Malhotra is learning the guitar and is even expected to sing in ‘Aashiqui 3.’ But before that, he will debut as a rapper in his upcoming film, ‘A Gentleman.’

Says a source, “Sidharth can rap really well. Directors Raj (Nidimoru) and (Krishna) DK who are close to Sidharth know about his hidden talent and decided to use it for their film.” An insider reveals, “Sid has done an entire rap portion for Bandook Meri Laila, which is the next song from the film to be launched. He recorded his rap at the studio on Thursday morning. Malhotra has even shot a two-minute video for it.”

The song will be launched in a few days, but it is not in the film. It will just be part of the background score, reports DNA India.

This would not be the first time an actor has rapped in a movie. Abhishek Bachchan’s rap in “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu” from ‘Bluffmaster’ (2005) was a superhit whilst his father Amitabh Bachchan also did the Genie rap in ‘Aladin’ (2009).

Akshay Kumar rapped for the title track in ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ (2009) and Aamir Khan too had his own rap version of “Dhaakad” from ‘Dangal’ (2016). Also “Lucky Tu Lucky Me” from ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014) brought out Varun Dhawan’s rapper side for the first time.
