Sidharth Malhotra on Alia Bhatt: “There�۪s no truth to the boyfriend part”

There have been rumours for some time that Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, who both debuted together in 2012’s ‘Student of the Year’, were actually a couple. However, although they’ve both been backward in coming forward about the truth, Malhotra has finally admitted that he’s not Bhatt’s boyfriend.

Talking in an interview with Hindustan Times, when asked about the reports that Bhatt had watched her boyfriend’s new film, Malhotra said, “Where has this news come out? I have no clue. Yes, she was at the screening. And she did feel bad during the climax scene ��� she told me it was her favourite ��� and felt the pain when I broke my shoulder. I am taking it as a compliment that I could make somebody feel the pain while I was ��lying�۪ on screen.”

“There�۪s truth to her crying part, but there�۪s no truth to the boyfriend part (smiles). I just know that she came for the screening, she enjoyed it, and cried at the end,” said Malhotra about news that Bhatt was spotted crying after watching the film, ‘Brothers’.

Malhotra also talked about working with Katrina Kaif in Excel Entertainment’s next, “I am very excited about working with her. We have been doing a lot of readings and workshops. Since it�۪s a love story, a lot will depend on our chemistry. The film will have a long outdoor schedule; we should be done with the shoot by the end of this year. I am getting to play different ages in one love story in this movie, unlike my other film with Shakun Batra (director), which is a family drama.”

Malhotra will also be seen alongside Bhatt and Fawad Khan in Dharma Productions’ ‘Kapoor and Sons’.
