Sidharth Malhotra has undergone a change in his attitude towards his work, since the success of Kapoor & Sons۪ and feels more comfortable as an actor.

To be fair to my other directors, I brought a certain amount of experience in this movie but this is a side that people have not seen before. There is a change in my attitude towards work. It۪s like I have tasted blood,۝ he told PTI.

In The Indian Express, Malhotra gave credit to director Shakun Batra for bringing the best out of him in the ensemble family drama, which also stars Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rishi Kapoor and Rajat Kapoor. In the first few films, everything was very new and there was a lot more questioning in my performances. But this role was closest to what I am in real life. Shakun did not want me to portray something, he said I want you to draw from you for this part. This is by far the maximum fun I had on a film set.۝

Malhotra stumbled into acting through modelling and assistance direction, but feels grateful of how his journey into Bollywood has manifested. I became an actor due to various accidents. I am happy that they happened because I was very lost as a child and did not know what I was good at. I used to feel that I will not be able to do anything in life. But now I feel I am in the correct profession where I need to know a little bit of everything.۝

Malhotra went on to say while they were making Kapoor & Sons۪, they had no idea that it will find such acceptance. We thought the film will have a narrow audience. We knew that it was a good film but the universal appeal that it has got is overwhelming and unexpected. I have never got such response for any of my films so I am holding onto this feeling and hope I get more chances to feel like this.۝

Though Kapoor & Sons۪ has been a hit there۪s no time for a break, Malhotra will be shooting two back-to-back to films, one an action drama which is still untitled and was thought to be the sequel to Bang Bang۪, and the other Baar Baar Dekho۪ starring alongside Katrina Kaif, which Malhotra says is 70% complete and due to release in September.
