Sidharth Malhotra bags Ekta Kapoor’s ‘The Villain’

The popularity of Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ (2012) can be proven by the projects the three main leads have gone on to bag after the film’s release. The buzz at the moment is that Ekta Kapoor has taken a particular liking to Sidharth Malhotra and has signed him for her next movie, ‘The Villain’.

Kapoor had expressed just a few days ago that she was looking for a young Amitabh Bachchan for the male lead role in the movie which will be directed by Mohit Suri. Kapoor divulged, according to Times of India, “We were in need of��a young action hero��who has the intensity to carry a film of this genre on his shoulders.��Sidharth��is just that. He is popular, desirable and tomorrow’s answer to brawn with soul”.

Suri also commented on the forthcoming project, “Sidharth is rugged and good looking. This role is tailor-made for him. Romance, drama and music have been the highlights of my movies and this one will be no different. We’re currently finalising the female lead”.

The film is expected to go on the floors in August.
