Shruti Haasan to get makeover in Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’

Milan Luthria, whose next film titled ‘Baadshaho’ starring Ajay Devgn is an emotional drama, looks forward to working on his career’s most challenging next. Apart from Devgn, the film will also have two leading ladies and while the makers announced Shruti Haasan as the first face, sources reveal that the actress will have a complete transformation for her role in the film.

Luthria is known to give his actors a look makeover, be it Vidya Balan as Silk Smitha in ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011) or Ajay Devgn playing Sultan in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ (2010) and for her role in the film, Hasaan too is going all out with look tests and workshops to get under the skin of her character.

While Luthria chooses to maintain a silence on the kind of character Haasan essays, he does confirm to Mumbai Mirror, “I feel that the work Shruti and I are planning to do together both in prep as well as on set will showcase her in a very different light, much as it happened with Kangana in Once and Vidya in TDP. She has a tremendous aura around her, which if caught right on screen, will surprise many.”

All praise for the actress adds Luthria, “I was looking for a fresh pairing for Ajay, and in Shruti I felt there is an abundance of talent and glamour which has been very successfully exploited in the south, where she is doing all the big budget films. I always like working with actresses who haven’t really been given their due but have heaps of potential. In the limited work she has done here, she has achieved critical acclaim in films like D DAY, and commercial success in films like GABBAR. But I instinctively feel there’s a lot more to explore and discover in her.”
