Shreyas Puranik confirms Deepika Padukone in ‘Padmavati’?

Music director Shreya Puranik has recently announced that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ will star Deepika Padukone, although the production house remains schtum on the matter.

The music director said on his Twitter that the actress will be starring in the film and that he is working on the soundtrack. Interestingly, Bhansali Productions have been tight-lipped about the casting and continue to be so.

With Padukone in place as female lead, one’s mind does wonder whether it’s true that Ranveer Singh will also be cast opposite her. If the two do unite once again then it’ll mark a hatrick for the team following the successes in 2013 of ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ and 2015’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
