With the likes of Vyjayanthimala, Rekha and Sridevi having essayed the iconic Naagin roles, news has it that Shraddha Kapoor is to follow in their footsteps with a three-series franchise about the same.
According to Times of India, Kapoor has been signed by Marathi film director Vishal Furia to play the lead in a Naagin type role. Talking to the media about the project, Kapoor was reported expressing, “It’s an absolute delight to play a ‘naagin’ on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am in ‘Nagina’ (1986) and ‘Nigahen’ (1989) and always wanted to play a similar role that is rooted in Indian folklore.”
With the project still in its early stages, there has yet to be news on the title of the film.
