Shraddha Kapoor on replacing Katrina Kaif in ‘Street Dancer 3D’

With her recent successes at the box office with ‘Saaho’ (2019) and ‘Chhichhore’ (2019), Shraddha Kapoor is on a roll to say the least. Her next, ‘Street Dancer 3D’ with Varun Dhawan is well underway, but the film was originally offered to Katrina Kaif, which Kapoor is not bothered about.

Interviewed by Pinkvilla, the ‘Stree’ (2018) actress shared her delight when she was approached for the film, but said she does not dwell on being second choice after Kaif dropped out of the film, “No, not at all. Ultimately I feel like there are so many reasons. Like I couldn’t do Saina (Saina Nehwal’s biopic) for whatever reasons and these things happen. Eventually, I think it is what your happy with. I was super thrilled that I came on board for Street Dancer 3D. I love to dance. It’s one of my most favourite things in the world. So I was super excited to get back on Street Dancer and be with my old gang – my ABCD 2 gang. Characterisation is super different and very very exciting. So, I was only happy about it. And for whatever reason am in the film, I’ve had a great time. Am very happy.”

Kapoor also reveals in the interview that she was approached for ‘Street Dancer 3D’ while she was prepping for Saina Nehwal’s biopic, and since Remo D’souza is her guru it was an offer she couldn’t refuse. Parineeti Chopra has now stepped into the badminton champion’s shoes.

‘Street Dancer 3D’ is slated to release in January 2020 and will also star Nora Fatehi and Prabhudheva in lead roles.
