Shraddha Kapoor: “I don’t think people go to theatre only to watch a star”

Though her last film bombed at the box office, Shraddha Kapoor is in high spirits for her next with Rajkummar Rao titled ‘Stree’. With the trailer being received well so far, the actress recently spoke to the media talking about how it’s no longer about a star bringing people to the theatre, but the story itself.

“I don’t think people go to the theatre only to watch a star… rather they watch a story. People are smart to choose a film by its trailer and there are various avenues of entertainment. Audiences want good content,” Ahmedabad Mirror reports Kapoor expressing.

‘Stree’ marks the debut of director Amar Kaushik. When asked if she felt it was a big risk in working with a new director, The actress explained, “I think every film is risky in some way or the other because the audience is changing rapidly, and it is difficult to predict what our audience wants to see.”

She want on to add, “That is why the only thing I am focused on is giving my best while making a film. The result, box office number… is not in our hands. As an actor also, I enjoy the process of filmmaking.”

‘Stree’ will hit silver screens on 31st August.
