Showstopper Kareena Kapoor returns for Lakme Fashion Week 2013

The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor has always been appreciated for her sense of style. Having been showstopper at last year’s Lakme Fashion Week for designers Kallol Dutta and Pankaj and Nidhi, the actress is all set to walk the ramp again this year for Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2013.

Kapoor will, once again, be gracing the catwalk in the grand finale for designer Namrata Joshipura. Purnima Lamba, Head Innovations told Indian Express, “Yes this year too Kareena, being the brand ambassador of Lakme, will be walking the ramp for the finale. She is quite excited about it. We hope she would have some time from her busy schedule”. Lamba added that Saif Ali Khan most probably will not be in attendance to a hectic film schedule.

Joshipura also spoke about the event, “I am really looking forward for the finale. I am quite happy to showcase my collection, which will be a blend of contemporary and modern. I had an interaction with Kareena but my focus would be to keep her look quite to the essence of the show ��� which is contemporary modern”.

Vikram Phadnis will be doing something a little extraordinary this year. He divulged, “Swadesh is here to change the attitude of rural India, which is not about bullock carts and wells but there is a lot more to it. I have visited quite a few villages in Maharashtra. I can’t talk much. All I can assure you is that it will be something unexpected”. He went on to say that he has a surprise in store that will be worth the wait.

Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2013 will be taking place from 22nd-26th March in a suburban five-star hotel and will see collections showcased by 87 designers. Tarun Tahiliani will be hosting an opening event on 21st March.
