Shoojit Sircar is now the acclaimed director of two films that have done well critically; ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012) and more recently ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013). The director is now gearing up for a project in which Amitabh Bachchan will be playing lead.
Sircar has been working on a script for some time and had Bachchan on his wish list from the off set. News has it that he has already made Bachchan aware of the project which will be shot majorly in Kolkata. However, the casting coup will come about if Sircar convinces yesteryear actress Moushumi Chatterjee opposite Big B in the film.
Sircar has only just finished the promotional activities of ‘Madras Cafe’ but it seems the director is no mood to take a break as he is now working on completing the said script ready to present to both Bachchan and Chatterjee.
Bachchan and Chatterjee last graced the big screen together in 1979’s ‘Manzil’.
