Shoojit Sircar to decide whether to release ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ on digital in May

Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, has been sitting ready for release but is facing delays to the coronavirus lockdown.

The filmmaker has now confirmed that he will take a decision on whether to release the film on digital or theatres after the current lockdown ends in India on 3rd May 2020. It was initially expected to release on 17th April but has been put on hold until further notice.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Sircar said, “As a filmmaker, I’d want to see my film open in the theatres, but the situation today is unlike anything anyone had ever experienced. So, I’m open to a digital release if need be, but we will take a decision after May 3.”
