Recently, there have been reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan was about to sign her first Pakistani film and that too with a filmmaker she had been eager to be associated with Shoaib Mansoor. However, Mansoor has denied any truth in the news.
Talking to Subhash K Jha, Mansoor said, She(Kareena) had written to me praising my films and expressed her wish to work with me, and that۪s it. There is nothing concrete as yet.
He also spoke about the possibility of joining hands with the Indian film industry, I۪d like that. I feel the predicament regarding religious bigotry is the same in both the countries. I feel Pakistan and India are casualties of wrong policies. I wish to address my films to these issues. It۪s important to bring about an awakening in people_. Not that I feel cinema can change mindsets.
If you and I travel together you can sail through customs. But I۪ll be grilled although I dress conventionally. Intolerance is a way of life in every culture. Even today, women are treated as commodities in many countries. In my second film Bol through my leading lady Iman Ali I wanted to show how women are treated, Mansoor further added.
So, it means Bebo will be waiting for now for her debut in Pakistani cinema.
