Shivangi Joshi to make Cannes 2020 debut

Popular television star, Shivangi Joshi will become the latest celebrity from the small screen to make her debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Incidentally, her former co-star from ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, Hina Khan made her grand debut last year at the festival. Joshi will be marking her entry at the global event this May, when she debuts on the big screen with a film titled ‘Our Own Sky’. The film also stars Asifa Haque and Aditya Khurana.

Talking about the decision to cast Joshi, producer Mohammed Nagaman Lateef said, “I roped in Shivangi Joshi for the film as besides her, I didn’t find anyone who is capable enough to hold this role. I have already worked with many experienced actors so I wanted to go with someone new. Shivangi has not done much when it comes to music albums or commercials. So this film will give her the opportunity to come out of her daily soap space.”

Joshi confirmed the news but didn’t divulge details about her Cannes 2020 plans.
