Shivangi Joshi to join ‘Balika Vadhu 2’ cast to play grown-up Anandi?

Shivangi Joshi who had a successful stint on the popular long-running series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, is soon to embark on a new journey as she bags the lead role in ‘Balika Vadhu 2’, if reports are to be believed.

According to Pinkvilla, ‘Balika Vadhu’ a story based on child marriage, is due to have a generation leap where Joshi will take on the role of a grown-up Anandi, who is currently played by Shreya Patel. Joining Joshi in this next chapter is apparently also Randeep Rai who takes over from Vansh Sayani as ‘Jigar Aanjaariya’. Rai was last seen in ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’.

Although an official announcement hasn’t been made, a close source shared, “Yes, Randeep will play the grown-up Jigar and is paired opposite the new Anandi (Shivangi Joshi). Randeep is a talented actor and we are glad to have him on board. Just like the inaugural instalment, the show is all set to embark on a new journey following the time leap. The cast will be doing a mock shoot in a couple of days.”
