Farah Khan has been trying to keep husband Shirish Kunder and Shah Rukh Khan apart since their public spat in 2012, however, it looks like Kunder will now be editing their next film ‘Happy New Year’.

According to NDTV, King Khan has let bygones be bygones but Farah wanted to rope in another editor to avoid any awkwardness. But now sources state that she is keen that Shirish edit Happy New Year. All her earlier three films ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’ were edited by him.

A source told NDTV, “Farah has always worked with Shirish in all her directorial ventures. So obviously there is the comfort factor. For her, it is like when there is an editor at home, why even look elsewhere.”

Adds the source, “When Happy New Year was announced there was speculation whether Shirish would be part of the project given the history with Shah Rukh. To avoid the ugly past being raked up, Farah preferred that Shirish’s name did not figure as editor. But now she feels that he is her best bet.”

Unit sources however state, “Shirish was Farah’s first choice but when he said he was tied up with his script writing, she had to look elsewhere. She needs someone who can gel with her at the editing table. Shah Rukh does not interfere in the editing.”
