Shilpa Shetty Kundra cleared in 2007’s Richard Gere obscenity case

Shilpa Shetty Kundra has finally been cleared in the 2007 obscenity case, which was filed in a Rajasthan court, after the actress’ controversial kiss with Hollywood star, Richard Gere, at a media event.

The incident took place at an AIDS awareness event where the two celebrities were present. The complaint was filed against the two after Gere continuously hugged Shilpa and planted a kiss on her cheek.

A source was cited in Box Office Worldwide saying, “It seems that the accused Shilpa Shetty is the victim of the alleged act of accused no. 1 (Richard Gere). Not a single element of any of the alleged offence is being satisfied in the complaint,” metropolitan magistrate Ketki Chavan said in the court order, “This by no stretch of imagination makes her a conspirator or perpetrator of any crime.”
