Shilpa & Raj Kundra get anticipatory bail reserved

On Friday, a Thane district court reserved order on the anticipatory bail application made by Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra until Saturday. BizAsiaLive.com had reported back in April that an FIR had been filed against the Kundra’s for allegedly cheating textile owner Ravi Mohanlal Bhalotia of Rs. 24 lakh.

According to Asian Age, Kundra has told Bhalotia that he can keep the Rs 100 crore ready to pay him as the couple have filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against the business owner. The court has advised Kundra not to make threats towards Bhalotia.

In the couple’s defence, their Advocates Aniket Nikam and Hiren Kamod, have said, “This was a matter of pure civil transaction and there was no element of any criminal offence”. Hence, the duo have asked for relief from arrest as they have both complied with the court orders and and have cooperated with the investigation agency. Nikam further added that when Bholatia and Kundra were business partners, Kundra had already paid over Rs 1 crore to him, which he says shows that there were no intentions of cheating from the Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd owner.
