Shekhar Ravjiani talks about ‘Neerja’ debut

Shekhar Ravjiani is a music director and playback singer turning actor with ‘Neerja’. He has revealed that he rejected a few offers before deciding on taking up the role in the Sonam Kapoor starrer.

Talking to PTI, Ravjiani said, “Before ‘Neerja’ happened, I was offered at least eight to ten films which came from top directors and producers.��Mostly they were lead roles. I liked some offers, but the projects did not kickstart while some offers did not excite me”.

He also spoke about having no such aspirations to take up acting, “I had no plans to be an actor. After I started appearing on reality shows, people felt I had the potential as an actor.��When the acting offers came I did not jump at it”.

Ravjiani credits director Ram Madhvani for his debut in ‘Neerja’, “It was Ram’s idea to cast me. He helped me a lot while playing this role of Sonam Kapoor’s love interest. He allowed me to explore the part the way I wanted. Acting came naturally to me”.

‘Neerja’ is scheduled for release on 19th February.
