Shekhar Ravjiani on “praying hard” to regain his voice after two years

Shekhar Ravjiani, renowned as one half of the popular music duo Vishal-Shekhar, has shared a deeply personal revelation about losing his voice two years ago due to a rare medical condition.

In an emotional post on social media, Ravjiani disclosed, “Here’s something I have never spoken about before… felt like sharing it today. I lost my voice two years ago.” He revealed that Dr. Nupur Nerurkar diagnosed him with Left Vocal Cord Paresis, a condition that left him devastated. Reflecting on that period, he admitted, “I was destroyed. Honestly, I was pessimistic… I thought I would never be able to sing again.”

Ravjiani also expressed how his family’s concern deeply affected him. “My family was worried. And I was not happy seeing them all stressed out. I just prayed harder. I didn’t stop working. Kept trying, kept pushing,” he shared.

A significant breakthrough came during a trip to San Diego, where he sought the expertise of Dr. Erin Walsh, a specialist who proved instrumental in his recovery and helped him reclaim his voice.
