Director Shekhar Kapur is planning to remake the Hindi version of 1987’s cult classic ‘Dirty Dancing’.
A source told Mid-Day, “While there is news about Kapur making his long-pending film Paani, the fact is that he will soon start work on Dirty Dancing. Back then the film had received multiple awards in the form of Golden Globe, Oscar and Grammy. The producers are at the final stages of getting the rights of the film and Shekhar has helped them clinch the deal.”
Kapur has denied the news, saying he is busy with his next release ‘Paani’, which stars Hrithik Roshan. However, sources say that Kapur is currently away and once he returns to India, he will work on details on the ‘Dirty Dancing’ remake.
