Shekhar Kapur confirmed for ‘Mr India’ sequel

There has been a lot written about the sequel of ‘Mr India’ (1987) and today BizAsia can confirm that Boney Kapoor has roped in Shekhar Kapur for the second part.

Shekhar who has been busy with other work was unable to give dates to Kapoor until now. As source told Times Of India, “But Shekhar had prior commitments and had said that he would be present as the creative consultant on the project.” Kapoor told the publication, “Well, it is too early to talk about this. But yes, Boney and I have been talking about it often.”

Unlike previous reports, Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will also be a part of the sequel. They will not play the lead but pivotal roles. Furthermore, Salman Khan is also being linked to the project to star as the villain. Boney had said earlier, “I don’t think I can make a film without Salman. He is in Mr India 2 and also in the sequel to No Entry.”

‘Mr India 2’ will hit theatres in 2014.
